Volkswagen Parts: The Reason for Reliable VW performance!
But with Volkswagen vehicles, these needs are best achieved by employing quality Volkswagen parts which are actually engineered for such purpose. These authentic vehicle parts are made to ensure that it will fit the concept of every VW model launched in the auto scene. These are reliable, durable, and of high quality. Though they are made from tough materials; however, they must be well maintained as car parts in general are always subjected to several damages due to the nature of their functions. Also, the constant use and the environment conditions must be taken into consideration as these are the key factors that affect these parts and the vehicle as a whole. Ensuring the good condition of these vehicle parts will make driving more convenient, enjoyable, and safer.

Turbocharge your BMW
The most important thing you must take into consideration when thinking of adding a turbo to your car is to think is the engine’s parts will be able to sustain the extra power from the turbo. More information can be found on BMW Tuning Magazine
Adding a turbo requires quite a few engine modifications, and the outcome will be more power from your initial power, but will also bring higher temperatures inside the engine and the very high revs the turbine will function.
The German BMW’s are already known for their superior handling, reliability and power, but you squeeze a few more horsepower from your BMW engine by adding a turbo charger.
Compared to other methods of obtaining more power from your engine, superchargers offer less costly and an easier to install kit (these kits make 6-8 lbs of boost and the average home mechanic can safely install a quality application in 6 hours). Superchargers will typically make an impressive horse power increase, but many suppliers do not make a tremendous amount of low RPM torque, so if you only drive your car to work across the city, a turbo will not bring you significant advantages. There are many components that a turbo charging set contains, as it is made up of thing like the intercooler, the bypass valve, the blow off valve, a waste gate, exhaust manifold, larger injectors and many more.
The typical home mechanic will probably be unable to complete this installation and that is why you should address a large car repair or tuning shop to complete the operation. Even for an experienced mechanic, mounting a turbo kit will take several days of work.
However, due to the significant increase in power a turbo kit brings your car, the wait is worth it. But when considering turboing your BMW, you should also consider improving your car’s brakes, as a 500 horse power BMW will require a lot of braking force to bring it to a stop from the astonishing speeds it can achieve. So the braking system should also be improves when mounting the kit (elements such as larger diameter rotors, multi piston calipers, sport brake pads, stainless steel brake lines and performance brake fluid should be on your shopping list).
You should also pay special attention to the BMW’s drive train when thinking of turboing your BMW. The initial car was developed to handle only a certain amount of power and any increase in this amount of power can affect your car’s stability and ability in taking corners if you not strengthen up essential parts in the BMW’s drive train (such as the clutch).
Also the car’s cooling system should be upgraded as well when turboing your BMW, as power generates heat and the initial radiator had been developed to eliminate just a certain amount of engine heat.
So you may think that adding a turbo kit to your BMW is an easy operations, but the truth is that if you want to have a professional operation done, there are other elements beside the engine itself that have to be modified.

Lamborghini style doors
The most common visual modifications involve changing the car’s color, adding elements such as spoilers, rims, or even extreme modifications brought to the car’s interior.
People will always look at a car’s appearance before they look at its performance and that is why most people choose to enhance the car’s aspect by any means. Recently, more and more people are choosing to install Lamborghini tuning doors to their cars
So what are lambo doors, you may ask yourself?
Lambo doors are, as their name implies, car doors that open in a Lamborghini style – vertically. Car doors that open verticalle have always been regarded as something very luxurious and were reserved to very expensive cars. When choosing Lambo doors, people have to buy Lambo door kits, as they came in sets of two.
The Lambo doors kit also includes the special hinges and bolts, as the way the Lambo doors attach to the car’s chassis differs significantly from the way normal doors open. There are Lambo doors that can be opened in various degrees, ranging from 70 to 120 degrees. Installing a pair of Lambo doors to your car will enhance greatly the way your car looks and it surely make it stand out from the crowd, even if the car is normal in appearance.
You should know that installing a pair of Lambo doors to your car requires quite a lot of work and it involves a few more pieces than installing a pair of rims, for example. You will have to un-install the original doors from your car and to install the new pair of Lambo doors and you will require all the installation tips and information supplied by the Lambo door vendor.
You have to work carefully to be sure the doors are perfectly aligned and sealed. After all, you would not want water to infiltrate your car or your new, shiny Lambo doors to give way during a car crash.
Being a more complex operation, you should purchase Lambo doors from tunning shops that also offer you installation, as this is not your everyday mounting scheme.
There are two main types of Lambo doors available and they differ according to the method of installation. There are the bolted Lambo doors and there are the welded Lambo doors.
The most popular types of Lambo doors are the bolted ones as they are the easiest to install. After you have bolted the doors to your car, you must align them and adjust their fit. If you will ever want to change the doors (to buy new ones or to install the original ones back on), the bolted Lambo doors are the easiest to do so.
However, you must be careful when mounting them, as the bolts in the bolted Lambo doors can shift easily if they are not properly installed. The welded Lambo doors are more firmly held into place compared to the bolted ones, but you will have to use a powerful welding torch while installing them and you have to pay very much attention to protecting the car’s paint job from the very high temperatures.

Tires – Wear and Tear
Irregular tire wear is a good indication that it might be time to have your tires replaced, did you know that it can also be a warning sign that your vehicle is experiencing steering, alignment or suspension problems?
The underbody of your vehicle is an interlinking system. Steering and suspension life is directly related to proper 4-wheel alignment. Your vehicle chassis components depend on it. When you see your tires starting to show signs of wear, don’t just assume that they are getting old. Ties can be a warning sign for other vehicle problems. Make sure you request a proper 4-wheel alignment inspection as part of your vehicles’ annual check-up.
Irregular tire wear is a symptom of a problem that if neglected, could damage your vehicle and put your safety at risk. Become familiar with these early warning signs, a good preventive maintenance tip will keep you on the road.
Steering – If the vehicle is pulling to one side, make sure you check the tire pressure. If the tire pressure is balanced, the steering problems could be due to any of the following:
* Uneven tire rod length
* Incorrect toe
* Unequal camber or caster
* Incorrect center link/rack height
If you are experiencing excessive steering play or hard steering, have your technician check for loose or worn struts, strut mounts, shocks, springs and-or bushings.
Suspension – There are many parts within the suspension system of an automobile. If you are experiencing suspension problems, have you technician check the tire alignment, bearings, bushings, strut rods, springs and-or control arms. Inspect all suspension parts and repair all parts that are worn or damaged. Failure to do this may allow the problem to reoccur and cause other suspension parts to fail and break.
Alignment – Wheel alignment is needed for proper handling and tire wear. Proper wheel alignment keeps the wheels from scuffing, dragging or slipping. It also reduces fuel consumption and strain on steering and suspension parts. It also improves steering ability. There are three alignment angles that affect your vehicle – camber, caster, and toe.
1. Camber is the inward or outward tilt of the wheel at the top from a true vehicle line and is measured in degrees. The purpose of this adjustment is to distribute the vehicle load closer to the point of road contact. This makes steering easier and helps to prevent excessive tire wear.
2. Caster is a directional control angle measured in degrees and is the amount that the steering axis tilted from true vertical backward or forward. Caster affects turning ease, straight-line stability and steering wheel return ability.
3. Toe is the difference between the front and rear of the corresponding tires at spindle height. This is easier to understand when you compare your car’s wheels to your own feet. When the fronts of the tires face in toward the car, this is called toe-in. When they face out from the car, this is called toe-out. Incorrect toe will increase tire wear and tear.

Alloy wheels
An alloy wheel is a wheel made from aluminium or magnesium alloy. Alloy wheels are lighter than steel wheels and so performance is increased. Alloy wheels are becoming increasingly popular and so most manufacturers fit these as standard on their new cars or offer an option to upgrade to them.
Aftermarket wheels
Many companies sell aftermarket alloy wheels due to the popular demand from the street racing and cruising crowd. Some of the most popular include Wolfrace, BK racing, and fox racing. Alloy wheels are more expensive than ordinary steel or plastic wheels. Because of the price they are popular in the hip hop and r and b scene with rappers talking about having 30 inch chrome rims as a sign of wealth and prosperity.
Why fit alloy wheels?
There are two benefits with fitting alloy wheels. The first is performance. Most alloy wheels are lighter than normal steel wheels and so performance will be increased.
The second is looks. Any car no matter what it is will look better with alloy wheels over hub caps, so long as they are not over the top. If you are into showing off your car and competing at shows then it’s an absolute must.
The Downsides
The main downside to having alloy wheels is that your insurance will be higher as the car or the alloys are at more risk of being stolen. The larger and shinier your rims are the more likely your car will fall victim to car thieves.
The second drawback is that if you have big rims and low profile tyres they are at more risk of being damaged when driving over bumpy roads and potholes etc. Cleaning will take longer, especially if the wheel has a lot of spokes so be prepared to spend a couple hours a week cleaning them.
Final advice
Buy alloys that you like and think suit your car. Everyone has their own opinion so don’t be influenced too much about what other people say.
Chrome rims look great but take a lot more cleaning, are heavier, and if curbed look ugly when the chrome is chiselled off.

Building a show car – IV
Hello and welcome to the fourth instalment in the building a show car series. Today we will be looking at the interior styling.
Like on all the other areas of the car be consistent with the interior styling. If your car has a racy look then a bright colourful interior with 10 Tv screens may not be the best choice. For a racy look the interior should consist of Custom mounted gauges, racing seats, roll cage and lots of lightweight materials made out of carbon fibre and aluminium. For an exotic/wild style car you should include custom materials like vinyl or leather to re wrap the car’s interior. Make sure the whole interior is covered from the roof liner to the carpet as points can be deducted for incomplete interiors.
Choosing the right colour
For choosing the right colours for the interior the decision should be based on the colour of the car. You should try to match it as closely as possible to the colour of the exterior of the car for example if your car is black then a black interior. On the other hand you can go for a contrast like a red car with a yellow interior. All the parts like the steering wheel, gear knob, handbrake and pedals should match the interior colour.
Another good way of deciding on a colour is to match it to the rims. If you have a silver coloured car with black rims, then having a black interior would make a nice contrast. Having too many different colours on the car makes it look messy and you will loose points at a car show.
Customizing the interior
In order to gain maximum points at a car show the interior needs to be customized as just re wrapping the car’s interior in a different colour just won’t do anymore. For example you can have Tv screens built into the centre console, gauges is unusual places, you’ve probably heard of some car’s that have goldfish bowls and even a whole aquarium built into the centre console. Obviously you wouldn’t have these extreme customisations if you are going for the racy or clean look.
Well that’s it for the car’s interior, most people know what their doing when it comes to this area on the car. Stay tuned for the next part in the building a show car series which will be about the car’s audio and entertainment system.

Building a show car – III
Hello and welcome to part 3 in the building a show car series. Today we will look at the exterior styling of the car. This part involves a lot of personal choice of which body kit to choose since there are literally thousands out there. The exterior styling of the car includes the body kit, paint, type of wing, type of hood and custom modifications.
Choosing a bodykit
This part is totally up to you, it’s how you envision your car to look. Try to not copy anyone else’s style and be yourself as long as you think it looks good and you are happy with it that’s all that matters.
The three types of look are aggressive, clean and racy. If you want an aggressive look then you should definitely check out the Veilside, wings west and Stillen body kits. And if it’s the clean look your after add on lips are good alternatives like the ones wings west and Greddy offer.
If you are going for the racy look some kits that look good are the buddy club copy kit, touring style kits that a lot of companies offer, and race ready aerodynamic kits. If these manufacturers don’t make body kits for your car, just choose one you like that matches the car’s overall theme for example if you have got exotic chrome alloy wheels you might want to get an aggressive body kit as they would complement each other.
Paint
The colour/paint of the car should match the car’s style/theme. If you car is wild and has an aggressive look then a wilder colour like chrome/mirror paint or flake paint can be used. If you have a racy looking car championship white or even a painted racing scheme would be good choices. Good paint jobs for clean looking car’s would be some of the more luxurious colours like candy paints, bronze, pear etc.
Custom modifications
This again is down to personal choice and can get you extra points at car shows. Try not to go overboard with it though like making the front of your car a Punto and the back a Clio for example. Invest in mods that will bring out your car, and don’t spend to much as the amount of points you can gain from this section is minimal, spend money on other parts of the car that need attention.
Choosing a wing
Choosing a wing for your car shouldn’t be very hard, depending on the style of your car again and go from there. If you have an aggressive looking car then a gigantic aluminium wing could work, but it would not be the best choice for a clean looking car. The wilder your car, the bigger and taller the wing should be. If you have a racy looking car an adjustable wing made from lightweight material like carbon fibre would be good.

Building a show car – II
Hello and welcome to the second part in the building a show car series. Today we’re going to look at suspension, which is also a very important area on a car. When at a car show the judges don’t just look at all the cool stuff like big TV screens, how good the sound system is etc they look all around the car. Suspension on a car consists of the brakes and the suspensions which can be coil-overs, a -arms, drop forks, sway bars, steering knuckles, roll cage and undercarriage.
The first thing to do is replace the stock brakes with a big brakes kit, Brembo, Stoptech, AEM are just a few of the companies that manufacture big brake kits. You can upgrade the rotor size to 13 inches, and the rotors can vary between being cross drilled, slotted or both. In my experience you are best off going for the slotted kit as these are proven to be the most efficient when it comes to braking performance. A big brake kit usually comes with heavy duty callipers which you can paint with high heat calliper paint to match the colour of your car.
For the suspension itself most people would just get lowering springs. At a car show more is needed than just lowering springs, a hi tech suspension system is recommended like a full coil-over system. If you can’t afford a full coil-over suspension system then just change the springs and shocks so that they are not stock, as basically everything on a car at a car show should not be stock. For the rest of the suspension drop forks, sway bars, steering knuckles, a-arms and sway bars can be ripped out and chromed or powder coated with a colour to match your car. This takes a lot of work but the judges will hopefully notice how much effort you have put into it and award you extra points.
The roll cage adds to the looks of the car, but also serves its purpose for protecting the occupants from being injured in an accident. The best thing to do is instead of buying and fitting a pre made one is go to a chassis place and have them custom build you one. Make sure the roll cage is chromed or powder coated with a colour that matches the car to keep the overall theme.
The last thing to do for modifying the suspension is pimp out the under carriage. The petrol tank and the entire exhaust system can be chromed or powder coated with a colour to match the car.
